Until this year, 7700 N. Wickham Road was the Mi Jalisco address. On the evening of September 18, 2026, it had a live DJ, margaritas and a grand-opening crowd for Pepe's Cantina, the newest Brevard location of an Orlando-based Mexican restaurant group. A few doors south, 7640 N. Wickham Road went dark that same month when Lilly Rose Café closed. Farther down the corridor, the old Niki's space has been serving breakfast under a new name since February.
Look at Suntree's whole year and the pattern holds. Nothing here started from bare ground. Every change happened at an address that already had a story: a storefront with a new tenant, a park with new equipment, a country club hosting the same events again. Suntree renews itself one lease and one contract at a time, inside the footprint it already has.
Three Addresses on One Stretch of Wickham
Here's what changed on N. Wickham Road in 2026:
| Address | Before | Now | When |
|---|---|---|---|
| 6947 N. Wickham Road | Niki's Restaurant | Mimosa's Brunch | Opened February 2026 |
| 7640 N. Wickham Road | Lilly Rose Café | Closed | September 2026 |
| 7700 N. Wickham Road, Suite 101 | Mi Jalisco | Pepe's Cantina | Grand opening Sept. 18, 2026 |
Pepe's had a long run-up. Viera Voice profiled the restaurant before it opened and named the franchise owners as Luisiana Rodriguez and Alejandro Diaz. The founders of the Pepe's Cantina concept are Frank Chavez and Stuart Kirban. That preview expected a late-August celebration, and the date later moved to September 18. Florida Today's September restaurant roundup, syndicated on Yahoo, confirmed it had officially opened. The roundup lists tacos, burritos, fajitas, enchiladas and house-made guacamole, along with a long tequila list and handcrafted margaritas.
The menu also leans inventive. Florida Today's coverage mentions Hawaiian-style Korean fried chicken, Mexican-style tostones topped with birria or shredded chicken, Tulum sweet-fried shrimp, and mahi-mahi and octopus tacos. The restaurant's own page lists hours of 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. If online ordering looks paused when you check, that's a status on the Toast ordering page. It doesn't mean the dining room is closed.
Mimosa's Brunch was the year's first refill. Florida Today reported in February that it opened at 6947 N. Wickham Road, in the former Niki's space. It serves breakfast, brunch and lunch every day from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. So the morning slot on Wickham now goes to a brunch house in a space that was already a restaurant, and dinner at 7700 belongs to a new kitchen in a room that already had one.
Lilly Rose Café is the other side of the same process. Florida Today remembered it for acai bowls, specialty coffee drinks, baked goods and a welcoming, community-focused feel. Its closing leaves 7640 N. Wickham as the corridor's next open storefront. Going by this year's other two addresses, that's how Suntree's next opening would arrive.
The HOA Is Doing the Same Thing in Its Parks
The pattern isn't limited to commercial leases. At its September 8 meeting, the Suntree Master Homeowners Association board voted unanimously to approve an $85,808 contract to replace the aging playground at Interlachen Park. The board is replacing equipment in a park it already has. BYO Recreation of St. Augustine is supplying the new equipment, and National Playground Construction is removing the old pieces and installing the new ones.
According to Viera Voice's report on the meeting, the new lineup includes:
- A Super Sonic Slide and a Dueling Super Sonic Slide with a Spiral
- A Loop Hole Climber, a Spiral Step Climber and an Inclined Wall Climber
- A Surge Climbing Link, a Horizontal Loop Ladder Vertical Panel Climber and a Leg Lift
- A Rain Wheel, a Bubble Panel and Bongos for sensory and dramatic play
Billy Specht, appointed SMHA general manager at the same meeting, said the equipment should be installed in time for Christmas. He also floated a community event at the park, "maybe even a Santa event," with free ice cream for kids. No date has been announced, so treat it as an idea for now.
The board also approved $11,050 for Advanced Electric Services of Melbourne to replace six old breaker panels that run Suntree's irrigation system and the lights on its entry signs. Few people will notice a breaker panel. Still, it's the same kind of spending as the playground: money going into infrastructure that already exists.
Next Door, Viera Is Adding New Addresses
The contrast is easiest to see just across the line, where this year's biggest openings are brand-new developments. Viera Voice reports that the Publix anchoring Viera Promenade, the fourth in the Viera-Suntree area, is scheduled to open the first week of November. It sits at the northeast corner of Murrell Road and Berglund Lane, just south of Viera Boulevard. The planned tenants include Publix Liquors, Sergio's Tacos and Pigtails & Crewcuts. Over Labor Day weekend, Lakeside Social opened at Lakeside at Viera Town Center as a new open-air waterfront venue. It holds about 1,500 guests and has two bars, a waterfront amphitheater and lawn, and food trucks.
For someone in Suntree, both projects are a short drive from home. They also show how differently the two communities change. Viera adds new addresses. Suntree fills the ones it has. That's why a single September closing on Wickham Road counts as news here, and why it matters what moves into 7640 next.
The Fall Calendar Runs on Repeat Events
Suntree's fall calendar follows the same logic. The dates between now and Christmas are familiar events at familiar venues, two of them at Suntree Country Club.
- Saturday, Oct. 10, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. The Suntree Rotary Club's 21st annual Great Tastes at Suntree, held at the Oasis at Palm Shores, 2950 Pineda Plaza Way, just over the line in Palm Shores. Proceeds support Aging Matters, Space Coast Volunteers in Medicine and Florida Wildlife Hospital. OneSeniorPlace's listing puts tickets at $50 and says 20 local restaurants will serve samples. The participating restaurants haven't been announced. The Suntree Rotary event page is the place to check.
- Thursday, Nov. 26, 7 a.m. The Suntree Turkey Trot 5K on Thanksgiving morning at Suntree Country Club, 300 Country Club Drive. VieraNow's listing shows registration at $32 in advance and $40 on race day.
- Thursday, Dec. 10. The Neighbors of Suntree holiday luncheon, with a gift-basket raffle, also at Suntree Country Club, according to the group's 2026 to 2027 calendar.
- Before Christmas. The target for installing the new Interlachen Park playground, with a possible celebration still to be scheduled.
Great Tastes is in its 21st year, and that run says something about the restaurants it draws on. The event depends on enough local kitchens to fill a room. Along Wickham, that supply holds steady when spaces like 6947 and 7700 get new tenants instead of sitting empty. Mimosa's and Pepe's are the kind of businesses a 22nd Great Tastes will need.
Viera's Publix Promenade opens in early November. Suntree's fall runs on a repeating schedule at the Oasis on October 10, the country club on November 26 and December 10, and Interlachen Park sometime before Christmas. Somewhere in that window, a new name may go up at 7640 N. Wickham Road.
A storefront that changes hands without losing its place on the block is the same idea behind how LGN Group prepares homes for sale. We keep the structure, rework what's inside, and present the result so buyers see it as new. If you own in Suntree and wonder what a refresh could do for your home, we're glad to walk through it with you.
